OUR STORY
CarpenSiri is more than a dress brand
— it’s a part of my story.
I grew up on a military base where life was strict, but every weekend, my parents took me and my sister to visit our grandparents in a small village in northeast Thailand, a quiet rural place that became my favorite spot on earth.
I spent my days running through fields with cousins (mostly boys!) catching spiders, grasshoppers, dung beetles, even scorpions, of course not for fun, but for food.
I helped my grandma collect mulberry leaves, feed the silkworms, spin thread, hand-loom the garments, and snack on fried silkworms. We picked cotton to make pillows and used fruit from the garden to make sweets. Everything was handmade. Everything had meaning.
On special occasions, Grandma would dress me in her most treasured pieces garments she hand-loomed or received as wedding offerings. I was one of her few granddaughters and always felt like the “chosen one” wrapped in fabric full of love and memory.
As I grew older, life changed, technology took over, fast fashion became the norm. I brought new clothes for my grandparents every visit. In Nov 2023, I gave Grandma a sweater from the States, hoping to see her wear it every winter. That was the last time I saw her.
And now, I will only meet her in my dreams.
She was quiet but strong, raising six kids, cooking, weaving, gardening, giving everything to her family. What she planted in them… she also planted in me.
Today, I work with women from small Thai villages women like my grandma who carry the same strength and dignity giving them work, pride, and purpose through their craft. I want to raise my two boys, care for my husband, and build something that lasts.
Here in the States, I offer fabric and clothing that are beautiful, made to last, and still affordable.
I don’t know where this journey will take me, but I’m walking forward with a full heart, carrying the memories, the love, and a small way to honor the women who came before me.
